Name-Based Case Searches
PAMEC is the statewide public access service tied to Mississippi Electronic Courts. Its public profile lists Yazoo Circuit and Yazoo County Court as participants. Yazoo Chancery, Justice, Youth, and Yazoo City Municipal Court do not appear there. Those courts are not public PAMEC locations. So sort the court first. A party name run through the wrong court route can come back empty. That can happen even when a Yazoo County docket exists somewhere else.
The public pages offer no guest case-query form. So no one can promise a name-field order, filter, date format, dropdown, pagination, or export option. Read the PAMEC registration steps and terms before opening an account. For a common name, give the clerk the court, the year, the other party, or document details. That helps the right file get told apart from the rest.
- Identify Circuit, County, Chancery, Justice, Youth, Municipal, or federal court from the event.
- Use the exact legal party name and retain the filing year or an approximate date.
- Register for PAMEC only if the case belongs in its listed state-court coverage.
- Open the matching docket sheet, then verify the court, number, and setting.
- Contact the keeper when a result is missing, restricted, or not specific enough.

Yazoo County PAMEC Registration
The PAMEC registration page shows four options. These are New Registration, Maintain Account, Forgot Password, and Forgot Username. New users pick Attorney, Non-Attorney, or Firm Administrator. The public terms demand agreement. The payment sequence also requires a payment method plus a commitment step. Remember, this is an account-access workflow, not a public guest case form.
The official registration page lays out the account types available before any eligible Yazoo County docket search. After setup, PAMEC login serves as the public entry point.
The login page confirms that the case-level search route is behind account credentials.
Case Number Searches
Search by case number first whenever the number is known. PAMEC publishes no Yazoo-specific public number pattern. It publishes no authenticated field order either, so a made-up example would simply mislead. Copy the number exactly as it appears on the court paper. If the interface allows, try the number with and without punctuation. Confirm the court name too.
A local number may appear as [case number from the court notice]. It will not follow any guessed format. A clerk pulling a legacy or paper file needs more detail. Add the filing year, the court, and the document title. A citation number beats a broad traffic description. A filed case number beats a name alone.
Yazoo County No-Result Checks
A no-result can mean several things. The court could be wrong, the file could be a pre-MEC paper record, or the category could be restricted. The indexing may be incomplete. The name may be spelled differently. The case could even sit in city court rather than county court. A number-format difference can do it too. First confirm whether the matter belongs to Circuit or County Court. Do not assume PAMEC covers it. Then ask the proper clerk whether the case is held elsewhere. Ask too whether a docket sheet can be requested.
The PAMEC terms warn that a search can generate a one-page charge. That applies even with no matching result. So skip the repeated trial searches. The sensible checklist: exact number, a punctuation variation if permitted, the full legal or corporate name, the right court, the filing year, and the correct clerk's office. Request documents only after the docket has identified the case.
Case Search Results Explained
A docket result can carry a lot: the court, case number, case type, filing date, style or public parties, entries, settings, status flags, documents where allowed, financial entries, disposition, appeal, and access warnings. The level of detail shifts with the court, user permissions, and the category of record. Treat a result row as a summary, not the full case file.
| Court and number | Confirm both before treating a result as the intended Yazoo case. |
|---|---|
| Style or parties | Helps distinguish cases, subject to public-access limits. |
| Entry history | Records filings, events, and settings in chronological order. |
| Status flag | Offers a clue such as pending, closed, sealed, or appeal; inspect the order for meaning. |
| Document availability | Can be limited even when a public docket sheet is visible. |
Watch the vocabulary. Terms like CLOSED, Nolle Pros Pending, Final Judgment Issued, and SEALED are docket labels, not conclusions you can read without the related entry.
Yazoo County Search Charges
The PAMEC Non-Attorney terms set the fees clearly. A $10 annual registration charge applies, plus $0.20 per page resulting from a search, and a no-match search is billed as one page. Billing runs quarterly in January, April, July, and October. The terms also bar automated scraping meant to dodge billing and permit account action for nonpayment, fraud, congestion, or security concerns.
The official terms page spells out the public access and billing conditions for this state-court search channel. PAMEC payment method information explains how the account payment choice works.
That payment page supports the account-access route. It shows no public case-search field list.
Two Ways to Search: County and State
PAMEC is a statewide access layer for participating courts. It is not a separate Yazoo-only case database. The county-level alternative is the office that keeps the case itself. Circuit and County Court files go to the Circuit Clerk. Chancery files go to the Chancery Clerk. Justice, Youth, and municipal matters sit with their own court offices. So court selection comes first in any docket search.
| PAMEC state layer | Yazoo clerk route |
|---|---|
| Yazoo Circuit and County Court are listed as participants | Routes to the specific court and its official records keeper |
| Read-only electronic docket, notice, and available document access | Can address paper files, copies, certified copies, and restricted access questions |
| Registration and usage charges apply | Current local copy and certification method should be confirmed |
| Does not promise Chancery, Justice, Youth, or Municipal coverage | Needed for the courts outside the listed PAMEC profile |
Yazoo County Clerk Docket Search
Start with the right office. Circuit Clerk Robert Coleman holds the Circuit and County Court files at P.O. Box 108, 209 E. Broadway Street, Yazoo City, MS 39194, reachable at 662-746-1872. The Chancery Clerk is April Adams Jones, P.O. Box 68, Yazoo City, MS 39194, 662-746-2661. Justice Court answers at 662-746-8181. For matters inside the city limits, Yazoo City Municipal Court takes calls at 662-314-1013 or 662-314-1014.
A Yazoo County docket search often works best in person. Ask the clerk about the file. Does it sit on a public terminal, in paper storage, or need staff retrieval? MEC procedures let the public use electronic access at the clerk's office during regular business hours. That holds even when remote access is off. Terminal hours, copying equipment, ID rules, and payment methods vary by office. Call ahead so the trip is not wasted.
Which Cases Stay Restricted
A restricted document is not a closed case. Yazoo County still holds the file. MEC procedures list the categories that get shielded from remote view: debt collection, garnishment, replevin, custody, support, divorce, paternity, termination of parental rights, guardianship, minor settlement, and protection-from-domestic-abuse matters. The document image may be off limits. A public docket sheet often is not. The clerk can spell out the access route for someone authorized to ask.
Youth Court cases are different. Abuse, neglect, delinquency, truancy, and CHINS files do not belong in a public name search. Juvenile intervention files do not either. MEC redaction rules also guard private identifiers, dates of birth, financial-account numbers, and minor names. A sealed or expunged marker is a warning to stop and ask. Request the legal basis, and ask whether a redacted docket can be released.
Access rule: Search the docket to identify the court and case, then request a filing or certified copy from the clerk only if the record is publicly available or the requester is authorized.
Yazoo County Federal Searches
Federal cases live in a separate system. Yazoo County federal matters land in the Southern District of Mississippi, Jackson/Northern Division. PACER is the official access service. CM/ECF is the filing system behind it. Do you not know which court holds the case? The PACER Case Locator is the nationwide fallback. A federal case should never be searched through PAMEC. Nor should one go to a state Circuit Clerk. PACER's Southern District court lookup points the way to the right federal access route.
Federal docket access runs through its own lane, apart from the Yazoo County state search. PACER Case Locator provides the national federal case-locator route.
The locator helps most when the court or case number is unclear. A PACER account is required for access.
